UV treatment provides a cost effective alternative to
100% chemical treatment when applied to cooling tower
systems. As described in an article previously published
in HPAC by K. Latzer back in April 1993, "cooling towers
by design are the world's finest air scrubbers." As a
result, air borne contaminants are effectively deposited
into the condenser water and if left uncontrolled show
up as scale and bio-fouling on the heat exchange surfaces.
