Ultraviolet Germicidal Disinfection

We design and manufacture ultraviolet equipment for industrial and high purity water systems that when used for disinfection purposes, destroys microorganisms present in the system water. The ultraviolet lamps in these systems emit their peak UV radiation at the 254 nanometer (nm) wavelength. This wavelength readily passes through microorganism cell walls and destroys or inactivates its DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid, which is altered as it absorbs the ultraviolet radiation). DNA, being the major constituent of all microorganisms makes UV an excellent disinfectant, that does not require any added chemicals, such as Chlorine to function. Ideal Horizons commercial and industrial germicidal disinfection equipment provides minimum dosages of 30,000 microwatt seconds per square centimeter—at the end of lamp life (EOL).
